Sunday Mornings Cape Flats

It's hard to believe the silence that fills the streets of the Cape Flat's early Sundays.
It's the same streets that are filled with laughter and joy and the sounds of kids playing. But at the same time I face the fact that these streets are the battle ground of so many gangs.
Weekend after weekend we hear news of young men losing their lives to gang violence on the Cape Flats and to many people its become a norm and just accepted as a way of life.
So I think of myself, how art and music was my savior.  I needed to save myself from my own environment but who is saving all these kids from their own environment?
